Who are PWTAG?
The Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) is an independent, non-commercial membership organisation, dedicated to raising standards in pool water treatment.
Unrivalled Collaboration
PWTAG collaborate with Government agencies and professional and technical specialist bodies to form a core membership. Their representatives are crucial, working together to set and maintain standards for the management of safe pool water. The PWTAG Council consists of representatives recognised by PWTAG in the swimming pool water industry, usually representing a unique area of interest.
Decades of Expertise
Formed in the 1980’s, PWTAG has since become the authoritative source of standards and guidance for pool water treatment for all types of swimming pools – competition, leisure, and spa.
Pool Water Treatment Publications
The book Swimming Pool Water: Treatment and quality standards for pools and spas is a definitive guide for people in the pool and spa industries. PWTAG also produce Technical notes, which are updates or new material for the standards and guidance given in the book and should be read in association with the book.

PWTAG board director Tom Devin, who founded Devin Consulting, provides specialist technical advice to the group on design and specification matters for pool water treatment design standards.
Who are CIBSE?
The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) is the professional body that exists to advance and promote the art, science and practice of building services engineering, to invest in education and research, and to support a community of built environment professionals in their pursuit of excellence.
Our involvement with CIBSE
Tom Devin is currently working with CIBSE authors and is specifically responsible for the Swimming Pool section of Guide G: Public Health and Plumbing Engineering.
Who are IAKS?
The International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) are the leading global non-profit organisation for professionals from the sports, leisure and recreation facilities industry. Since 1965, it enables international networking for the exchange of planning, design and operational expertise.
