At University College Dublin, Ireland independent water treatment plants are provided for each of the swimming pools & vitality pools in the spa area – four in total. This facilitates independent temperature control in each pool.
50m pool can be divided by the boom to provide a 25m competition length pool. Movable floors at each end can be raised to offer shallow water for teaching, or deep water for training / competition.
Circulation within the 50m pool takes account of the movable floors and boom. The water treatment system incorporates PAC flocculation, medium rate filtration on sand media, photo-oxidation using ultraviolet, heating, pH control and residual disinfectant control using chlorine. VSDs control pump flows.
