Ashington Leisure Centre includes a 25m swimming pool with movable floor & submersible boom to provide utmost flexibility of use, there is also a separate learner pool. The health suite includes a spa pool with air & water massage features, sauna & steam rooms, aromatherapy room, ice bowl feature, experience showers, heated foot spas and heated relaxation bench. The water treatment systems design incorporated PAC flocculation, medium rate filtration on sand media beds, phot-oxidation using ultraviolet for excellent water quality, pH control using carbon dioxide for the 25m and studio pools, and low strength hydrochloric acid for the spa pool, and residual disinfection control using chlorine.
