At Aberdeen Sports Village, two independent water treatment plants are provided, one for each pool. Circulation within each pool takes account of the movable floor and the submersible boom, and the routing of all pipework is such that no pipework is buried underneath either of the 50m or diving pool tanks. The water treatment system incorporates PAC flocculation, medium rate filtration on single grade sand beds, photo-oxidation using ultraviolet, heating, pH control and residual disinfectant control using chlorine.
