Devin Consulting supports the bay foodbank

Devin Consulting, a leading Aquatic Consultant in the UK, has announced The BAY Foodbank (in North Shields) as its nominated Charity for the forthcoming year.

The team voted to support the local charity after it was announced that:

• 2.1 million emergency food parcels were given to people in crisis by food banks in the Trussell Trust network in the financial year 2021/22.

What really hit home was the mid year statistics, which show that between 1 April 2022 and 30 September 2022 1.3 million parcels were distributed; an increase of 52% compared to the same period in 2019.

Which means that it is very likely that some of our family, friends and neighbours may have called upon a local Foodbank for support.

It’s also worth noting here that it isn’t just Trussell Trust foodbanks which are being used and struggling to meet demands.  There are dozens of other community schemes ran by tireless volunteers, providing food parcels for those in need, including The BAY Foodbank.  So the official figures are likely to be much higher than those quoted above.

Throughout 2023, our team will be taking part in some teambuilding events with a fundraising focus, so that we can support this wonderful charity.  To kickstart the fundraising, our team celebrated Christmas Jumper Day by wearing their best festive threads, followed by a tasty hot mince-pie and ice-cream treat.

our generous team donated a total of £100 which will be topped up with an extra £50 from the company! This money is now on its way to the charity, to help over the festive period.
